This is a journey of two souls—

The ordained archivist Vincent Helio, a young man inexperienced with the world and who is desperately trying to live up to the title of “Regis Vicaria”.

And the reclusive doctor Orias, who is content to living a quiet life by the sea until a former student of his tricks him into assisting her.

Vincent is asked by an excavation site to investigate a deity’s domain that has appeared suddenly within the Trigala Desert. There he meets Orias while exploring the depths, and the two discover that something lurking in the shadows has been waiting for their arrival.

CHARACTERS

Vincent Helio

The current Regis Vicaria, an archivist ordained by the Patron Deities to record the history of the world. However, having stepped into the role at such a young age, he has had to spend the last several years training in the city of Janahad. Yet despite all this, he still can’t seem to meet the expectations set before him.

Orias

A reclusive man who lives a quiet life in the town of Maramagia. Though regarding himself as but a humble doctor, he’s a man with many secrets and a long past, and that past has finally caught up with him.

Briar Fulcanelli

A former apprentice and long time friend of Orias. She is a traveling doctor and Sigil Master, returning to the Trigala when asked for her insight. A strong-willed woman, she is one of the few people that can coerce Orias out of his physical and mental isolation.

Reese Cypriene

The retainer and mentor of Vincent. He was close to the previous Regis and now teaches the new successor all he knows, his strict tutelage being an excuse for his fear of losing another person he cherishes.
